Lets face it, we are all struggling with the idea that our whole lives have completely been put at a standstill. No dinner dates, hanging with friends, absolutely nothing. The first week or so, it was okay.. but we are all at the point now that we can’t watch any more “Tik Toks” or binge watch anymore Netflix shows. On top of it, in the back of our heads most (if not all) of the time is that ”we are legit living through a f***ing pandemic.” While these times can be really difficult. I am going to share with you all that I have been trying to do to get myself feeling in better spirits.
Workin’Out ~ At Home Edition
I know what your probably thinking.. wtf?? At home workouts? It is hard to find the motivation during this to even do anything remotely close to your daily routine; but the more you force yourself to, the better you will feel. Trust me when I say this, it WILL make you feel better. I have just been doing sets of some workouts I find on instagram(abs, legs, etc)with a little bit of cardio; bringing my total workout to about 40 min, TOPS. While it may seem like a lot, it goes by super quick, and the amount of stress it lifts off of your shoulders is wild.
Meditate Meditate Meditate!!!
You are probably ready to leave this blog, because you’ve heard all of these stereotypical tips before, but just listen. Coming from a girl who has the attention span of a goldfish and probably the highest level of anxiety of anyone in the entire human race.. if I can sit through it, you’ll be just fine. At first, I kind of thought meditation was just some weird thing my therapist had to mention to me. I WAS SO WRONG. If you guys have ever heard of the app “Flo”(available on the App Store) it’s one of the period tracker apps. Due to Covid-19, they are allowing full access to all the premium features on the app, including everything from meditation to diet tips. After a 5 minute session of the guided meditation, I literally felt like a new human being. Just trust me on this one, it will change your life.
Treat your body right!! ~ TO THE MAX!
While it is important to fuel your body with things to keep your immune system up and at em, be patient with yourself. Eat the donut, try that new cupcake recipe; treat yo self!! Remember, you ARE human. It’s okay to not eat perfectly clean all of the time, which is something I battle with every single day. Just when you can, make healthy choices. That doesn’t mean you can’t bake those brownies or order pizza from your local restaurant. It means when you can, make the best choice for your body. I know for me I try and substitute water for soda, or any other sugary drinks...baby steps!! *and with all that’s going on, just be kind to yourself, you are doing the best you can :)
p.s. stay home and stay safe!
